Press Release Body:
Phoenix, AZ, June 05, 2008 -- Disaster activist, Brenda Calbert, has teamed up with Neekam Inc to create the Rapid Disaster Response Blog. Readers can keep up with the latest news on Florida disaster response, disaster response incident command, disaster response information, disaster response animal rescue and levels of disaster response. Ms. Calbert says: "We want to get together and foster communication before the disaster hits, so that when something happens whether it is a tornado, earthquake or terrorism. People have those resources and facts in place so that they don\'t have to do all that searching after the fact."
The lessons of political repercussions from poor disaster response were evident in the USA in 2005, when Hurricane Katrina hit the New Orleans. Ignoring wide criticism of the Administration's slow response to the disaster, President Bush praised then-FEMA Director Michael Brown.
Ms. Calbert says: "Katrina showed that disasters strike everywhere. And a slow response makes any government look bad because they\'re not helping their own people, and it certainly hurts us on the world stage. That's one reason why I started this blog.\" The http://rapiddisasterresponse.com blog is also meant to help spread awareness about formulating disaster response plans at all government levels; beginning long-term recovery planning as soon as the imminent disaster has passed; appointing liaisons within local and national recovery offices for local officials and creating within the federal law governing disaster response a special category for large-scale disasters.
Ms. Calbert says: "Blogs and news servers have a unique opportunity to help following disasters because the base of any disaster management effort is integration, communication and working together, 3 things that blogs can help spread information about."
The Rapid Disaster Response Blog is meant to help spread information on earthquake disasters, earthquake disaster planning scenario, earthquake disaster plans, Missouri flooding, Mississippi river flooding, evaluating your disaster response, free market responses to disaster and war and more!
